Welcome to the Birdwhistell Realty & Auction Company. The Birdwhistell lineage in the real estate business in Anderson County dates back to the mid and late 1800’s. According to old publications, the late J.M. Birdwhistell was engaged in real estate, doing business as Birdwhistell & Buckley. The Birdwhistell and Martin Realty and Auction Company was formed in the early 1940’s by the late John E. Birdwhistell and Prentice Martin and continued in operation until the death of John Birdwhistell in 1965. E. Glenn Birdwhistell, the son of John Birdwhistell, began his auction career at the early age of 13. Upon the death of his father, he continued in the company with Mr. Martin until he retired. Upon Mr. Martin’s retirement, John A. Perry joined Glenn and Birdwhistell and Perry Realty & Auction Company was formed and operated for over 30 years. Glenn, being the second generation in the real estate and auction business has been joined by the third generation, his son Randy L. Birdwhistell.

Birdwhistell Realty & Auction Company has been selling real estate privately for many years and has conducted many auctions throughout Central Kentucky. The company features two Kentucky Champion Auctioneers and has four other experienced auctioneers. We also have a real estate sales staff with years of experience ready to assist you in any way.

Birdwhistell Realty & Auction Company are members of the National Association of Realtors, Kentucky Association of Realtors, Lexington Board of Realtors, and Kentucky Auctioneers
Association (having 2 past presidents), and the National Auctioneers Association where Glenn has been a member for 46 years.

We are fully staffed to handle estate auctions, farm, antique and vehicle and equipment auctions. Our company has a fully computerized mobile office and tents, if needed, for an on-site auction. We can make available a 40,000-square-foot large modern facility that is air-conditioned and heated to handle personal property or equipment auctions. We provide visual tours of our real estate listings and auctions. All of our real estate listings are on the Multiple Listing Service through LBAR.
